Sometimes I hear an echo. Sometimes I hear a voice. Sometimes I sing out loud. Sometimes I make no noise. If I go outside and I play with all the boys, will I stay this way or will I have to make a choice? Do I grow up in heaven or stay down here on Earth? Will you lie on my chest and listen while I breathe? Will you hold my hand when I walk and follow me? I think there are things around; they are things we cannot see. There’s a crease on your forehead, and your nose moves when you sleep. You’re the only one I feel safe to have around while I eat. You can take my picture; all you have to say is “cheese.” Sometimes I panic and sometimes I cannot breathe. Never feel that way just so long as you’re with me.
Where you go, when you go, in the sand or in the snow. There are things I’d like to say using words I’ll never know. I always wish that you would stay, even when I bid you go.
There’s a haze whenever I look into your eyes. It’s because I often tear up, though it comes as no surprise. Any way you are, anywhere you are. May I make a wish on you as if you were a shining star? There a space remains, right between both you and me. Will you close the gap if I beg you, saying please? Can we build a house? Maybe start a family? But first give me just a year; better yet, let’s make it three. Spent alone with you, every day is filled with glee.
